It can be tough to share our weaknesses, but I recently shared one of mine with Brooke Bohinc from BlogHer. As a brand and culture-driven CEO, some of my biggest challenges in the past few years has been forecasting and budgeting. The first year we did a formal budget, we forecasted way too aggressively and baked in too many risks. I learned that some of the biggest unlocks and wins in our business take the most time to unfold. These days, we live in the safe and buffers zone. I'd always rather exceed our forecast (like we did in Q1!!! 😊) and have unexpected wins than fall short. I'm so grateful for our amazing Belgian Boys team, the learnings we take from quarter to the next and am so proud that I've resourced my weakness with an all star finance team Laurie Myers Anthony Vecchio Jared Goldberg Laura Papa to help instill the financial planning and ROI mindset into our culture.
