On Thursday, August 1, the BRC hosted a group of incredible young minds from Girls Inc.! The group got to experience life as "Railroaders for a Day", complete with all the gear and PPE. From the Command Center to The Diesel Shop, and even a visit to The Hump, they saw it all! The highlight? Applying their new skills in our RCO simulator room. Last night, members of BRC management had the awesome opportunity to meet with our employees that report to work for 3rd shift. These dedicated individuals work tirelessly through the night to keep our operations running smoothly. Engaging with employees that we do not see as often as we'd like due to varying shifts was a reminder of the importance of connecting with all members of our organization. Did you know, 1 in 5 Chicago households are experiencing food insecurity? That's an alarming statistic that needs our attention. Members of the BRC Management team spent the morning volunteering at the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Together, we worked to pack donated items into smaller quantities for distribution at local food pantries throughout Cook County. Our group repacked 3,848lbs of frozen food, which is 3,206 meals! Roadmaster Will Lankford provides insight into a project at the CN Hawthorne Diamond, where CN and BRC tracks converge. BRC Track employees performed maintenance work and replaced panels on BRC Main 1 and 2. Great job!

Best. Day. Ever. On Saturday, June 15th, employees and their families gathered for our Third Annual Family Day event. It was a beautiful day full of laughs, treats, fresh squeezed lemonade and some friendly competition. We understand that the railroad lifestyle isn't easy. Our employees work hard all day, every day. Our Family Day gathering is a time to celebrate the BRC team and their families for their love and support. 🖤💛🖤💛
