Today is World Emoji Day--a celebration of the impact emojis have on our lives and how we communicate our emotions. Emojis are more than just fun symbols. They can be a powerful tool for promoting mental health awareness and understanding. They help you express your feelings when words are hard to find. They can also help us express ourselves, connect with others, and advocate for mental health. Comment with your current mental health emoji! For more support, teens can download the BeMe App to track their moods and get 1:1 help from our BeMe Coaches. #WorldEmojiDay

More than 4 in 10 high schoolers feel persistently sad or hopeless. BeMe Health’s “tech and touch” mental health support was built to break through and meet teens and young adults right where they are—on their phones. With an active Teen Advisory Board by her side, CEO Nicoletta “Nicki” Tessler, Psy.D., M.B.A. is on a mission to transform how teenagers experience mental health support. BeMe offers tailored content, mood reflection, skill-building, 1:1 coaching, and a supportive network to empower teens to thrive. Additionally, it offers connections to clinical services and 24/7 crisis support. BeMe Health has been called a “digital lifeline” and “created as a unique space that caters to the mental health needs of teenagers.” We’re proud it’s available in the Beanstalk Benefits Suite.  If you want a platform that was built to support the unique needs of both employees and their family members,  the Beanstalk Benefits Suite was built for you.  Check out BeMe’s video below and learn more about them here https://bit.ly/3LaWdNe.

As we observe Minority Mental Health Awareness Month this July, let's address a crucial topic: supporting first-generation youth with their mental health. At BeMe, we're committed to bridging the generational and cultural gaps in mental health discussions. We understand that starting these conversations can be challenging, so here's a practical tip for parents and caregivers: Start with shared goals. Instead of directly addressing "mental health," begin the conversation by discussing your child's aspirations. For example, you might say, "I know you're working hard to succeed in school. How are you feeling about your progress? Are there any challenges you're facing that we can talk about?" This approach opens dialogue without stigma, shows you're interested in their overall well-being, and creates space for deeper conversations about mental health. Remember, these conversations are ongoing. Your willingness to listen and understand can significantly impact a young person's life.

Meaningful perspective shared by Mike Males and San Francisco Chronicle. To state the obvious, understanding and treating mental suffering in youth is complicated. And, there is not one sweeping data point that can objectify the mental life of youth. Everything is “in part.” BeMe Health was built to convert that mobile device from a tool of teen stress into a trusted mental health ally. Too many do not have the fortune of residing in secure spaces (including and especially devoid of psychological and/or physical safety). If our company can offer a helping hand in feeling less alone while equipping them with skills and connection until they ingest hope, we will have done a small something. AND, the possibility as an ecosystem is so much bigger than our little company. We all know there is no way to build character without suffering. Yet, we can step in as an industry here with as much innovation as possible (the more the merrier!) to support youth in leveraging their pain to create a better life rather than succumb to devastating low self-esteem and self-loathing. Let’s lead with optimism as youth can actually be the greatest beneficiary of the net-new opportunities in the mental health industry — and we can’t think of anything more inspiring at BeMe. #WithTeensInMind #supportivemedia https://lnkd.in/ecpcWU8t

Dr. Amber W. Childs, Ph.D., spoke with the Washington Post about how downtime helps us be healthier, more focused, productive, and creative. Many teens don't get enough downtime, which can lead to a host of problems. This is especially true for teens, who are often under a lot of pressure to succeed in school, sports, and extracurricular activities. At BeMe, part of our mission is to help teens understand the importance of taking a break, slowing down, and learning to relax. Teen life, simplified.
