Benchmark Electrical Solutions was recently honored to attend the Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain’s 18th annual Summit Awards ceremony at Empower Field at Mile High. Nearly 300 electrical and renewable energy contracting professionals and leaders came together to celebrate the achievements of individuals and companies and award-winning electrical construction projects that span the Rocky Mountain Region. The event also marked the graduation of IECRM’s Emerging Leaders Class 12.0, who completed IECRM’s six-month leadership training program. Due to the program's community service project, they were recognized as program graduates and for raising more than $13,000 for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. Pictured below are 3 Benchmark Employees Connor Fallon, David Miller, and James Magnum who all completed the leadership program. Safety will always be the number one priority at Benchmark, so why not highlight our employees showing that initiative? Recently our very own David Miller was inspecting extension cords in the shop and came across a cord with a deep cut through the outer insulating jacket and the neutral. The copper wire could be seen because of the depth of the gash. If this cord was used on a job site or in the shop, it could have resulted in a life-endangering situation, reiterating why inspecting extension cords before use is considered a best practice. OSHA regulations are clear, repairing extension cords with electrical tape or merely covering the cut is prohibited. He disposed of the electrical cord in the garbage and made others aware of this situation to ensure nobody pulled it back out. Thank you David!
