The Berkeley Fire Department is proud to announce the successful completion of the 2024 Intern Inspector Academy. This year's academy has graduated 11 dedicated inspectors who will assist with 10,000 defensible space inspections in Fire Zones 2 & 3 in the Berkeley Hills. These newly graduated inspectors are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to ensure the safety of our community by identifying and mitigating wildfire risks. Their efforts will play a critical role in ensuring defensible space around properties, contributing to the overall resilience of the Berkeley Hills against wildfires.
