About us
Better Health Partnership is a 501(c)(3) multi-stakeholder Health Care Improvement Collaborative established in 2007 with support of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation as part of its national Aligning Forces for Quality initiative. Members include health care providers and systems, insurance plans, employer groups and community organizations that are committed to transforming health care to achieve better care, better health and lower costs. Better Health focuses on primary care for adults and children with prevalent chronic conditions that undermine the health of communities and frustrate efforts to reduce health care costs. We support the advancement of high-quality and appropriate care to increase the value of health care for all stakeholders.

Are your kids starting to get bored this summer? That's okay according to Amber Thomas, Chief Clinical Officer with Crossroads Health, a BHP member. She recently appeared on FOX 8 News in the Morning to share advice for parents to balance their child’s boredom. Some of the benefits of boredom, according to Thomas, include building creative thinking, problem-solving and planning skills. Tips provided during the interview include parents balancing opportunities for structured activities with unstructured activities, not helping kids avoid boredom and working with younger kids to identify a list of interests, projects, and toys they can play with. 📣 BIG MILESTONE! We are thrilled to share that the care coordination agencies (CCAs) working in the Better Health Pathways HUB have collectively earned over $1M in reimbursements from Medicaid managed care organizations using the Pathways Community HUB Institute® (PCHI) Model! "This major milestone underscores the positive impact community partnership and collaboration can make on our ability to advance health equity," said Jan L. Ruma, President & CEO, Pathways Community HUB Institute (PCHI). The CCAs, and the community health workers (CHWs) they employ, have helped connect thousands of individuals to necessary care and resources for needs related to food access, stable housing, utility maintenance, transportation to medical appointments and more. Achieving this milestone in reimbursements was made possible by BHP’s partnership with Ohio’s Medicaid managed care organizations including, AmeriHealth Caritas, Buckeye Health Plan, CareSource, Elevance Health (Anthem), Humana, Molina Healthcare, and UnitedHealthcare Community & State.
