Our Chief Development Officer, Will Chriscoe, has accepted a new role outside our organization and his last day with us here at BGCCP was July 2, 2024. Over the past three years, Will has been a cornerstone of our organization as Chief Development Officer. His leadership, dedication, and vision made significant contributions to our mission. We are deeply grateful for his invaluable service and the positive impact he made on the organization. Brittany Spear, our Senior Director of Resource Development, will be stepping into the role of Interim Chief Development Officer. Brittany has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to our cause, and I am confident she will guide our development efforts with the same passion and expertise. Over the past two years in her role, she has worked in all seven counties with donors, boards, companies, as well as managing multiple events. 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘆: “It’s a privilege to take on the Interim Chief Development Officer role. I look forward to continuing to work with our incredibly talented Resource Development team, each of which holds a special role in the success of our organization. Ultimately, our number one goal is to provide as many resources as possible to the young people we serve, ensuring them an exceptional experience!”

🇺🇸 Our Jack Minges Club celebrated Flag Day today by learning about the rich history of the American Flag and proper flag etiquette! 🇺🇸 Joined by author, former Marine, and former Boys & Girls Club Board President, Dallas Clark and two US Marines, youth learned the historical significance of this national symbol and got a hands-on demonstration on how to raise, lower and fold the flag correctly. Special thank you to Mr. Clark for his generosity in helping us to repair and restore the flag pole at our Club. From CEO Mark Holtzman - "It's a real honor to have the U.S. Marines here to teach our kids the proper handling and raising of the American flag. Passing on the significance and history of all the American flag represents is so important to us at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain and aligns well with our Club Code the kids recite... 'I believe in America and the American way of life...' There is no more beautiful, symbolic and well-recognized symbol of freedom in the world than the American flag, and we owe all it stands for to those who so bravely served, and continue to serve, our country in uniform today, especially our brave men and women in the U.S. Marines.” A huge thank you to all who participated and helped make this day so meaningful for our young people. This immersive learning experience ensures that they understand the protocols and respect associated with the flag and helps to foster respect and honor in our future leaders. ❤️🤍💙

Last week, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain hosted our annual Dream Makers Institute to kick off the hashtag #BestSummerOnEarth! This dynamic two-day experience was designed to bring together team members from across our seven county footprint and beyond for learning and growth. Held at the Grady-White Boats/E.R. Lewis Family Club, full-time and part-time staff alike had the opportunity to dive into exciting team building activities and immersive sessions in topics ranging from impactful summer programming and field trip preparedness to resource development, abuse prevention and more. We also had the chance to honor and acknowledge a special staff member's 30 years of dedicated service with the first annual Sonya Howell Service Award 💙 Thank you to our guests from Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne County, NC and Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central North Carolina who were able to join us and a huge thank you to our planning committee and the dedicated trainers who led their sessions with so much intention and excitement. 📸 See all of the photos from DMI here ⬇ https://lnkd.in/em4NfwqU

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain reposted this
Where do I start? Saturday was a day that I dreamt about 10 years ago when I first started Club Academy, a Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain program that serves member in-school in addition to after-school to provide academic intervention to members 1-2 grade levels behind. I knew that the sweet faces and big personalities of my first group of second graders would one day graduate and go into the world as young adults. I couldn’t be more proud. Their reactions when they saw me let me know the impact I had in their lives way beyond any data point that we could ever track. Congratulations Class of 2024. Go do your thing! Thank you PITT COUNTY SCHOOLS Steve M. Lassiter Jr., EdD for the ticket. It meant the world to me. #bgc #greatfuturesstarthere #education #graduation

On Tuesday, Rep. Gloristine Brown visited the Grady-White Boats/E.R. Lewis Family Club to learn more about the impact Club programming has on the young people we serve. Through touring the Club and speaking with staff and Club members, she was able to see the many opportunities Clubs provide and the variety of programs that happen each and every day behind the Blue Door. While there, she was even able to spin the famous wheel and is now a part of the House of Amistad (friendship/love) 🖤 Thank you, Representative Brown, for your visit!
