We’re excited to kick off the new school year with the return of our partnership with Arizona Lacrosse Academy at our Hartley & Ruth Barker Branch! Our kids are ready to dive back into learning the fundamentals of lacrosse—building teamwork, staying active, and having a blast. A big thank you to Arizona Lacrosse Academy for continuing to support our Club and inspire our young athletes!

A huge shoutout to Avnet for their generous $5,000 grant, supporting our Makerspace with essential consumables for sustainability projects! This week, AVNET joined us in turning plastic water bottles into beautiful works of art at our Hartley & Ruth Barker Branch. Our kids not only honed their creative skills but also deepened their understanding of the environmental impact of plastic and the critical role of recycling and upcycling in protecting our planet. Together, we’re inspiring the next generation to think sustainably and make a difference!

Today at our Thunderbirds Branch, we witnessed a heartwarming moment that shows the power of teamwork and kindness. A 4th grader took the time to help her younger friend with his homework. Watching these two work together reminds us that the Club is not just a place for learning—it’s where friendships grow and support is always around the corner.

Our Hartley & Ruth Barker Branch members are diving into the exciting world of coding with OzoBots! These tiny robots are helping our kids unlock their creativity and problem-solving skills while having a blast. It’s amazing to see their faces light up as they bring their codes to life and explore the possibilities of technology. At Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale, we’re empowering the next generation of innovators, one code at a time!

A huge shoutout to our friends at Progress Residential®! Today, they delivered bags packed with essential health items like sunscreen, toothbrushes, water bottles, and hand sanitizer to ensure our members are safe and protected during our upcoming events. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to the well-being of our kids! Together, we’re making a lasting impact in our community.

One of our sharp-eyed members spotted a baby gecko hanging out in the lobby of our Hartley & Ruth Barker Branch and quickly recruited Tyren to help with a safe return to the wild. Together, they carefully caught and released the little guy back outside—just in time for World Lizard Day! Great teamwork and a perfect way to celebrate these amazing reptiles. Who knew our Club would be the place for such a timely gecko adventure?

We’re thrilled to announce that we are one of the 26 Arizona-based nonprofits to receive a grant from Desert Financial Credit Union! The $15,000 grant will help us with a two-year opportunity for teen workforce development. Thank you, Desert Financial!
