It was unbelievable and we are incredibly grateful to have stood and rode alongside all of you ... to show up, stand up, and speak up for change. From 2018–2024, the Colorado legislature passed twenty-six bike-, pedestrian-, and transit-friendly bills. Nine of those were passed in 2024! Check out more about each of these bills. Three important themes came through this year: - Concern with rising traffic fatalities, especially of vulnerable road users. - Active & public transportation can help Colorado achieve its greenhouse gas reduction goals. - Land use policy impacts access to biking, walking & public transit. We are excited to welcome our new Bicycle Colorado Education Manager, Benedict. Benedict believes promoting cycling through education is needed to build safe communities, combat the climate crisis, and create a healthier and more equitable society. His two favorite bike memories are: - Exploring his Denver neighborhood growing up and enjoying the independence of his bike. - Riding bikes on the "truly magical" Aran Islands of Ireland with his dad.
