Taking Safety to the Next Level As part of Blue Bird's Next Level Safety announcement, a school bus crash test was performed at IMMI's premiere testing facility, CAPE, in Westfield, Indiana. The simulated crash test demonstrates the added safety Blue Bird buses provide passengers in the event of an accident when equipped with three-point seat belts and driver air bags, compared to the dangers passengers face without the added safety features. On the Road, with Propane Newport News Public Schools first discovered the reliability of their #propane school buses on a weekend trip to Washington D.C. Shay Coates, executive director of transportation, tells how the department and fuel provider worked with the bus driver to ensure the bus stayed fueled, and allowed them to learn the capabilities of the bus. Newport News Public Schools currently run 76% of their school bus routes with propane autogas. #WeBuildtogether Last week a few Blue Bird employees volunteered for Macon Habitat for Humanity's Home Builders Blitz. This all women team worked alongside other volunteers to sod, landscape and paint the Habitat home.
