"My husband and I can’t thank the staff at blueFire enough for the job they do, not only for my son, but for many other families that need this type of care. They are extremely professional and caring for every family in the program from the minute your child arrives. Our son is very much an indoor kid! He was addicted to tech/gaming, his phone, social media, along with engaging in risky behavior to impress his so-called friend group that would take advantage of his generosity. Over the 3 months that our son was in the high desert, he learned so many coping, behavioral and outdoor survival skills. He also engaged in equine therapy and learned about different breathing techniques to manage his emotions. During his time, he realized that life doesn’t have to revolve around social media, technology and cell phones. While we didn’t see immediate results, it was around week 7-8, when things changed for the better. We had an amazing therapist (Jon, who will never give up on any child) who did an incredible job with our son. Jon has seen a lot of kids over the years and had all of the necessary tools to not only break through, but to form a bond with our son that was noticeable during our zoom meets we had with our son. The results we witnessed, were exactly what we were hoping for! After Family Spark, his 3 month stay ended and he was definitely sad to leave his group and staff. He said it was “bittersweet” and hopefully he can return someday to visit with Jon & the other staff members that really became his desert family. He made several connections that will hopefully last for many years to come. We are forever grateful for his and our experience at blueFire..." #ParentTestimonial #FamilyTherapy #GetOutside

We view empowering our clients as a foundation for lifelong growth. As they learn and internalize these skills during their time at blueFire, we encourage them to carry these tools forward into their ongoing journey. In our metaphorical understanding, this journey is akin to tending a fire, a continual and ever-evolving process. Much like a well-nurtured campfire, our clients are encouraged to perpetually tend to their personal growth, ensuring their journey remains full of possibilities. #FireBuilding #PersonalGrowth #MentalHealthMatters #EmbraceChange

"Update: 2 years later. Our kid is doing really well. BlueFire was the initial catalyst. We have continued working with the therapist and with a parenting coach to have clear boundaries, expectations, and repercussions, and it has been a lot of work for everyone. Ups and downs, but overall forward trajectory. I credit blueFire for starting us down a good path. If you bring your child home from wilderness be prepared to put in the work in yourself needed to create an effective home environment different from before and think of it as a marathon and not a sprint." —Julie, Mother of blueFire Client #FamilyTestimonial #FamilyTherapy #blueFireWilderness

Whether furry or feathered, big or small, animals play a significant role in our therapeutic approach.
