Striving to improve and extend patients' lives

About us

Blueprint Medicines is a global, fully integrated biopharmaceutical company that invents life-changing medicines. We seek to alleviate human suffering by solving important medical problems in two core focus areas: allergy/inflammation and oncology/hematology. Our approach begins by targeting the root causes of disease, using deep scientific knowledge in our core focus areas and drug discovery expertise across multiple therapeutic modalities. We have a proven track record of success with two approved medicines in the U.S. and Europe. Leveraging our established research, development, and commercial capability and infrastructure, we now aim to significantly scale our impact by advancing a broad pipeline of programs ranging from early science to advanced clinical trials in mast cell diseases including systemic mastocytosis and chronic urticaria, breast cancer and other solid tumors. Patients are at the center of our mission. We know that in order to make a difference in their lives, we must create an environment where our employees — also known as the Blue Crew — can do their best work. Our culture of transparency, curiosity and diversity empowers us to draw upon a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives to build a conscientious team dynamic. Ideas come from every member of the Blue Crew, from the executive team to new hires. Each day, our teams commit to approach one another with respect and trust: a simple promise that fosters an inclusive and collaborative spirit. We care deeply about the communities where we live and work, and we strive to make a profound impact where it matters most. This summer, we've enjoyed engaging with BioversityMA, a program that connects underrepresented, low-income Boston-area residents with biopharma careers through the practical application of skills and partnerships with local life sciences organizations. Our #BlueCrew recently presented to current students on industry career options & job acquisition skills, supported mock interviews, attended the "Celebrating Bioversity!" fundraiser, and we're looking forward to hosting students at our office next month. We're proud to support Bioversity as the program tangibly closes the representation gap in the life sciences industry.

A career in life sciences should be accessible to anyone, no matter their background. This summer, we welcomed 30 interns from nearby universities and organizations like Project Onramp, Flare Education, Massasoit Community College, and Chelsea High School that help students from historically marginalized communities find internship opportunities in our industry. By bringing diverse perspectives into our company, we enrich our teams with fresh ideas and provide young people with a foot in the door. Thank you to all of our interns for a great summer!

Mast cells exist across multiple organ systems in the body, and they also drive several allergic/inflammatory diseases. We're leveraging our deep understanding of mast cell biology and its role in diseases like systemic mastocytosis in an effort to expand to other mast cell disorders such as chronic urticaria, with the goal to impact the lives of more patients.

We're deeply committed to supporting patient communities and advancing comprehensive care for systemic mastocytosis (SM). Our Medical Affairs team focuses on raising awareness of SM and its range of possible symptoms while championing collaboration among patients' care teams, which may include hematologists, allergists, gastroenterologists, and dermatologists. By continually expanding our knowledge, we strive to be a resource for both patients and healthcare professionals. Hear more from Rahul Kalathiya, PharmD, RPh below:

We believe that providing early career opportunities to diverse and representative populations is key to enriching our industry and driving innovation. Recently, we partnered with MassBioEd Foundation's The LEAH Project to host a visit to our Cambridge office, where students engaged in tours of our labs, learned about drug development during a #BlueCrew panel and more.    The LEAH Project is dedicated to addressing inequities in education by opening STEM opportunities to youth from marginalized groups. We're proud to support their mission to enable and empower the talent of tomorrow.
