A captivating metal sculpture wall is taking shape in Wellington, Kansas, as artist Ursula Goff brings the town's rich history to life. Commissioned by the Wellington Parks Special Development Committee, the sculpture will celebrate Wellington's railroad heritage. The BNSF Railway Foundation is supporting Goff’s work. Mark Jones, superintendent of operations for our Kansas Division, recently presented a donation to her. We look forward to seeing what she creates! #communityengagement #heritage #railroadhistory #WellingtonKS

As the impacts of increasing weather events have been felt across the country, we’ve continued investing in new ways to make our network more resilient. High winds have historically impacted BNSF’s South region, but with our new wind technologies and investments, like the recently installed wind fence in New Mexico's Abo Canyon, we have news that’ll blow you away! You might want to hold on to your hats for these impressive stats. Trains on the Clovis Subdivision have been zooming past wind events like never before. In July 2024, we had a whopping 25% fewer wind events compared to the previous July – all while the number of minutes trains faced delays were significantly reduced. That's what we call investing in our network to better serve our customers. Thanks to our team members who made this possible. #wind #innovation #freight #logistics

Major Harper-Terry, a locomotive engineer based in Houston, has been with BNSF for 11 years. He values the railroad's diversity, both in terms of the people he works with and the variety of roles he can take on. "I enjoy interacting with different people and learning new things every day," Harper-Terry said. "One day I might be a locomotive engineer, and the next a train conductor or switchman." He’s also dedicated to helping others, serving as a safety instructor and co-chair of his division's diversity team. Thank you, Major, for your work to keep BNSF strong. #freight #logistics #BNSF

Safety is the most important thing we do at BNSF Railway. Our vision is to operate free of accidents and injuries, and that includes the people and freight that travel on our tracks. In Case You Missed It: In addition to our thorough human inspections, we apply technology in multiple layers of safety on our network to ensure that our employees and the trains they operate stay out of harm’s way. Positive Train Control, rail inspection vehicles, the Network Operations Center, trackside detectors and our dedicated operations teams all work together to create a safe environment across our network.
