🍵 Fancy an afternoon cup? Bondfire Inc. partnered with Rishi Tea & Botanicals in the spring of 2023 to holistically redesign, re-platform, and re-launch their online channel for retail and wholesale. Building on the excellent visual identity and packaging work done by Studio MPLS, our team developed the brand strategy, digital identity system, and designed and built the full e-commerce experience. Platform partners included Shopify Plus, Rebuy Engine, Skio, Junip, Gorgias, Mapbox, and Klaviyo. The site launched in August, and yielded a tidy 5.1% conversion rate for 2023. Thank you to Miko Mercer and Jeffrey Champeau for the great collaboration and trust in our team. Shoutout to the full BF crew — Scott Stemke Daniel Wilber Leigh Patterson Austin Grove Josh Dudley Kenny Tye Emily Ethier. (And BF Alums! Some thoughts on navigation by partner and co-founder Daniel Wilber.

Have you ever walked into a store and found yourself lost? It doesn't really happen. Retail stores intuitively recognize the importance of wayfinding and navigation. How do we get a customer to move around the store and find what they are looking for? 1. A home improvement store with aisles/bins? 2. A multi-level department store with an escalator? 3. A boutique for women and children? 4. A luxury brand with 8 items on the rack and a 911 parked inside? Each of these scenarios requires thoughtful mapping, design, and implementation of wayfinding. — An e-commerce experience is no different. Time and time again, we see templated menu systems failing to serve the customer with where they are at in their journey. — When designing the examples below, we start with the psychology of the customer, and how it maps to a specific shopping environment. Jacobsen Salt Co. — How can we elevate an otherwise commodity good? What are the stories we can tell to support the purchase? Rishi Tea & Botanicals — How do customers shop for tea? By origin, by format, by type? East Fork — How can we present both glazes and pottery forms in a simple way? MINNA Goods — How does a person consider furnishing their home? By room, by category, by color? Beni Rugs — What product attributes can we highlight to bring someone deeper into the funnel? Designer collaborations? Weaving techniques? — A thoughtfully considered menu system will move more visitors deeper into the funnel and is a no-brainer area to investigate. — Head over to www.bf.inc for a deeper dive into some of our work. —

🥜🥜🥜 Nutrition Facts via Shopify Metafields. 🥜🥜🥜

A fun discovery on Shopify today— Metafield/Metaobject titles and descriptions can support Emoji. Use this to help visually separate long lists of attributes on a product, like in this example, for Nut Facts. 🥜 Be sure to use text first, to get the namespace.key correct, then swap to emoji once it's saved. Voila!

We don’t do passive. For nearly 15 years, it’s been our agency mission to create connections, not just campaigns. To build communities, not just display ads. To participate. Which is why we’re beyond thrilled to announce the launch of our new identity, reflecting our belief in the power of participation. As landscapes shift from passive consumption to active engagement, if you’re thinking you can win with consumers today by only talking to them—and not with them—well, we might not be the agency for you. We build brand relevance for a participatory culture. Because greatness is never achieved in isolation; it comes through participation with many. And we’re here to help.
