BISA proudly joined forces with the Komen Foundation on Capitol Hill for the second time! We supported passionate advocates as they shared powerful breast cancer stories with Congress at the Susan G. Komen Advocacy Summit in June 2024 🏛️💖 Learn more about the current policy focus: → Access to Breast Cancer Diagnosis Act (H.R.3851/S.2464) → Screening for Communities to Receive Early and Equitable Needed Services (SCREENS) for Cancer Act (H.R. 3916/S.1840) → Advancing the Safe Step Act (H.R.2630/S.652) We're also hopeful that Komen will expand its efforts to include lesser-known cancers that impact the breast, like BIA-ALCL and BIS-SCC, which often get overlooked. Together, we can make a difference!

BISA believes the patient should be informed of the various types of implant removals as well as the risks and benefits of each. This is important because many surgeons have varying opinions which can be confusing to patients.
