What a great turnout for this morning’s meeting at Broadstairs Pavilion. 😀 Great venue ✅ Great breakfast ✅ And another great guest speaker ✅ Mike Garner, the recently appointed Mayor of Broadstairs and St. Peters, came along to explain his role, and also the different responsibilities of the Town Council, Thanet District Council, and Kent County Council. He also took questions and comments from the 31 attending members, on topics as varied as traffic calming, waste collections, public toilets and Manston airport! 👏 Thanks for your time, Mike. And for offering yourself as a point of contact to local businesses like ours. 🙏 In other news… • Garry Contain from Caremark Thanet, Dover and Canterbury thanked the group for donating £500 to their #SepsisAwareness campaign. Their presentation at our last meeting moved a lot of people, and we’re pleased and proud to support such a great cause. • Our Chair, Michael Cannon from M&L Travel, read out a letter from one of our nominated charities, Oasis Domestic Abuse Service, thanking us - and members like Amanda Nicholls from HR Solve It - for ongoing support. • Jennifer Sutton from Social Enterprise Kent told us about their 'Social Innovators Summit' at St Augustine's in Westgate on Wednesday 9th October from 10am until 3pm.
