Today at C200, we are celebrating two important days! Today is Women's Equality Day in the United States, a day that commemorates the 1920 adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment to the US Constitution, granting women the right to vote. 104 years later, we recognize this day as the first of many battles won for women in the US and around the world. Today, women are heading some of the world's largest and most powerful businesses, wielding economic and financial influence that once only belonged to men. Whether it be the freedom to vote or to run a business, the impact and power of women in shaping society is something C200 always celebrates and advocates for. While we still have a long way to go until women are fairly represented throughout the entrepreneurial space and corporate ladder, C200 is proud to be part of shaping THIS moment in history for women and all that they will achieve in the future. That's exactly why we are so excited for our upcoming Annual Conference in NYC, one month away! Our Conference theme, "Reinvention: Inspiration from our past for building a brighter future," takes inspiration from Art Deco, the 1920s, and the opportunities created for women during that transformative time in US history. Happy World Entrepreneur's Day! Every successful business began as just an idea, and through a lot of hard work and overcoming obstacles, entrepreneurs transform that idea into reality. This is especially true for women entrepreneurs, who receive just 2% of VC funding. However, with women making up nearly half of US entrepreneurs as of 2022 (according to the World Economic Forum), there are more and more women entrepreneurs pioneering their ideas and innovating our society each and every day. C200 is proud to represent hundreds of hugely successful women entrepreneurs in our membership and work tirelessly to empower and advance emerging women leaders in that space through our Advancing Women Programs. We're inspired by women entrepreneurs every day and are energized to do our work by their determination to succeed! #WorldEntrepreneursDay #WomenEntrepreneurs #SuccessShared

How can we make sure we aren't taking progress toward gender equity in business leadership for granted? While women are experiencing record rates of representation in senior corporate leadership, many researchers have indicated this year that the progress we've made might be stagnating - even reversing. Organizations like the World Economic Forum and S&P Global Market Intelligence have marked a drop in the rate of women assuming senior executive and C-Suite positions. These findings could be the very first warning signs that we're entering a dangerous period of time for businesswomen looking to rise to the top of their companies. Why is this happening? What can we do about it? In our latest blog, we dive into all the numbers and point to educational programming and mentorship as vital resources for women looking to ascend the corporate ladder. Programs like C200's own C-Ahead® program for senior corporate women are perfect examples of ways we and other organizations ensure we aren't taking progress for granted. C200 member Nicole Ganier didn't know what purpose-driven work was until she started at Equus Workforce Solutions about four years ago. Throughout her successful career and her rise through the professional ranks, she never gave up on finding what that truly meant. "I can’t sit here and say, 'Here was my plan!' The plan has always been to be a good person, to be thoughtful and kind, to do good work, and to be a great mom," she says. "As women, we have to appreciate the experiences and the journeys we go through to realize where and who we are." Nicole shares more thoughtful insights like this in the newest installment of C200's New Member Blog Series! Special thanks to C200 member and Chair, Maryann Bruce, for hosting a wonderful Weekend Away at her Lake Norman home last weekend! ✨ Weekend Aways are smaller, even more intimate versions of FunRasiers, a favorite and exclusive event among our members! Additionally, like FunRaisers, a portion of attendee registration fees supports C200's mission to inspire, educate, support, and advance current and future women entrepreneurs and corporate, profit-center leaders. 💜 Attendees enjoyed getting to know each other better over the long weekend at Maryann’s Lake Norman home. Activities included relaxing by the pool, paddleboarding, boating, tubing, and dining at nearby restaurants. 🛥️ Thanks again to Maryann and everyone who attended this event!
