"The most important thing you can do on a sales demo is ask questions. They should be questions related to the problems you solve so that the trail leads back to what you're selling. However, the less you can talk about you, your company, or your product 👉 the more excited a prospect will get about the opportunity to solve their problem in partnership with you.” Check out more on this pro tip as well as 10 other data-backed takes: https://calnd.ly/45K32yP -- Enjoyed this post? One of my Calendly marketing team's top requests this year was to improve our meeting culture. They spend probably 80% of their time in meetings and they were super frustrated with the number of unnecessary or unproductive meetings. So we did a pretty big review and overhaul of our meeting practices. Some of the biggest takeaways: ✅ No agenda, no meeting. Just by forcing people to think about an agenda beforehand, it's amazing how much meeting time I've saved when meeting owners realize they can do an async update instead. ✅ Being explicit about encouraging questions and discussions, particularly from attendees that are more introverted or feeling too intimidated to speak up. ✅ Post meeting surveys to make sure you hit the mark on the content. ✅ Action plans and follow ups agreed on in the meeting itself, not days later when everyone has already forgotten what happened in the meeting. Only 27% of inbound leads get a response. It costs you $481,800 if your org generates only 100 leads/month with a 10k ACV. Don’t believe me? I did the math for you: 💸 Marketing budget - - Generating these leads costs between $40 - $200 each.  - Ignoring 73% of them means wasting $2,920 to $14,600 every month.  - That’s $35,040 to $175,200 wasted each year. - It upsets your marketing team when their work is completely ignored. It’s not just about wasted money. There’s lost revenue too. 💰Revenue impact - - Typically, 3.5% of inbound leads convert to sales.  - With proper follow-up, 100 leads could result in 3.5 sales on average.  - Ignoring 73% of leads drops potential conversions to about 0.945 leads.  - This means losing 2.555 potential sales every month.  - At $10,000 per sale, that’s $25,550 lost each month, or $306,600 annually. Following up with every lead is crucial. Stop sabotaging your profit margins. Start automating this process. 👉Here are 2 scheduling workflows I've seen top-performing sales teams use to maximize revenue: 1. Add instant scheduling to your ‘Contact Sales’ forms Set up rules that automatically qualify website leads based on specific criteria, then match and instantly book them with the right sales rep. This ensures that every lead gets scheduled without manual work. Most sales leaders I talk to say they can’t automate their inbound because they need to qualify every lead first. I get it. We aren’t here to meet with non-MQL or SQL leads. Calendly knows that too which is why they built this feature. Stop letting competitors steal your revenue because they move faster. 2. Round Robin Scheduling Distribute your team’s prospect/demo meetings evenly to improve #SpeedToLead. Calendly optimizes for availability and equal distribution to prevent any one team member from being overwhelmed. Top-performing sales teams ensure that every inbound lead gets a response in 24 hours max. The most successful are doing it in 5 minutes or less. I've seen data that says between 50-65% of sales go to the company that answers first. Be that company. How do you make it easy for prospects to meet with you or your team? #CalendlyCollab

How I stay motivated when a cold call goes wrong. Take a walk and remember it's a stranger. Look, cold calling can be depressing. • Pick-ups are hard to come by  • People hang up mid-sentence • Voice cracks when someone finally picks up Somedays, you may wonder why I even picked this job! Despite all that, cold calling still works for most people I know. Here’s how to stay positive despite the rejection. My solution is simple: I go for a nice walk. • I will call a friend  • Listen to music (Shout out to Gunna and Future) • Clear my head and re-think how I could have approached this better Just like how cars need to refuel, so do we. This gives me the mental reset I need to get myself back in the game. When I return to the phones, I am in a better mood and have recharged my batteries. • My confidence increases  • Renewed focus for the day • When I get someone on the phone, I book Breaks aren’t an excuse to be lazy & stop working. They’re strategically implemented so you can be more productive during working hours. ----- Have you seen Calendly's new ebook on cold outreach? Two simple ways to make your meetings easier and more productive this summer (plus the inside scoop on how we’re freshening up our own meetings!). 👇 1️⃣ Connect Calendly to your go-to tools We have a long list of integrations — more than 100, to be exact — that customers can easily connect and use with Calendly. If you don’t know where to start, we recommend trying out our updated integrations with Slack and Microsoft Teams! Our improved Slack and Microsoft Teams chat apps send you real-time notifications to keep you updated on when you book a new meeting, someone cancels, and more. You’ll stay up-to-date on all your meetings without ever having to switch tabs or platforms. 2️⃣ Give your meetings a refresh As a meeting-obsessed company, our “spring cleaning” this year looked a little different than what you might expect. Instead of dusting off the baseboards, we: 🔹 Ensured every meeting had a purpose. Are we just meeting to meet, or does the meeting have a specific topic: project retrospective, status meeting, or problem-solving? 🔹 Tidied up our meetings by sending agendas, writing pre-reads about the topic at hand, using digital whiteboards to make meetings more engaging, and more. Now for a quick tip from us to you: With summer vacation and travel in full swing, don’t forget to set people up for success to join your meeting, no matter where they are. That means making sure you set up your meeting location — video call, phone, in-person — in your event types in advance. We recommend adding what kind of meeting it is (e.g., 30-Minute Video Call) to your event type name to remind the attendee — and yourself! You can even offer the flexibility of multiple options, letting your invitee pick their video conferencing tool of choice. And if you’re the one in need of some location flexibility, our mobile app can help, as our very own Danielle (Ma) de Granville explains below! What are you doing to create #BetterMeetings this summer and beyond? We’re all ears in the comments. ☀ While you’re here, check out Head of Product Marketing Jeff Hardison's detailed product roundup each month on our release page, linked below.
