Did you know that North America’s pulp and paper industry represents a #CarbonRemoval opportunity of up to 130 million tonnes per year? We're excited to tackle this challenge and today announced that our SLB and Aker Carbon Capture Joint Venture (SLB-ACC JV) has been awarded a contract by its partner CO280 Solutions for front end engineering and design (FEED) of a large-scale #CarbonCapture plant at a pulp and paper mill on the U.S. Gulf Coast. “This contract represents a key milestone in our partnership with CO280 to deliver large-scale carbon capture solutions for the North American industry,” said Egil A. Fagerland, chief executive officer, SLB-ACC JV. “We look forward to continuing our collaboration with CO280 and their pulp and paper partner to prepare for a full-scale carbon capture plant through the FEED.” Read the full news release here: https://lnkd.in/gD6ipBtw

Kudos to Greenlyte Carbon Technologies for delivering their DAC technology to Europe’s largest integrated pilot project, converting air-captured CO2 into synthetic natural gas. GCT's technology co-delivers hydrogen and atmospheric CO2, positioning it perfectly for a sustainable hydrocarbon value chain.

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰-𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗮𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴! We are thrilled to announce significant progress on our DAC(H)-2-SNG plant. Last week, we visited the project location to discuss the start of construction! Annually, the integrated plants of Greenlyte and Zentrum für BrennstoffzellenTechnik (ZBT) will capture 40 tons of carbon dioxide from the air, produce 2.5 tons of hydrogen, and convert it into 5 tons of SNG - all with the help of renewable energy. Our plant will then be the first facility in Europe where direct air capture is fully integrated with the conversion to synthetic natural gas at a large demo scale. The plant is expected to be operational by the end of the year with full-scale operations commencing in Q1 2025. With our combined approach to delivering CO2 and H2 through one piece of equipment, we can significantly lower the costs and thus help our fuel partners (like ZBT) to produce affordable green fuels at scale. Furthermore, we are excited to announce Brusche Process Technology as our official EPC partner for our DAC(H)-2-SNG project and more to come. Brusche Process Technologies brings a wealth of experience in bringing sustainable process plants, such as power-to-liquid and waste-to-energy to life with many clients ranging from oil and gas or universities. We are proud to lead this project and eager to see how the insights gained will benefit future DAC(H)CU projects. 🌱 We thank the Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Industrie, Klimaschutz und Energie des Landes NRW and the #EU for co-funding this initiative. Kudos to Climeworks' co-founders Christoph and Jan for their passion, vision, and stamina in leading the way towards industrial-scale direct air capture (#DAC). It was overwhelming to see the newly launched #Mammoth plant in Iceland, the world's most advanced and largest DAC facility to date. Mammoth represents a demonstrable step in the company's scale-up roadmap, moving Climeworks' carbon removal capacity from thousands of tons to tens of thousands of tons per year. We are very proud to be part of this journey!

🚨 Big news coming out of SF Climate Week! 💥 At an event tonight, we announced a major partnership with XPRIZE to support the $100 Million XPRIZE Carbon Removal! The $100 Million XPRIZE Carbon Removal is a global competition aimed at tackling the biggest threat facing humanity - fighting climate change and rebalancing Earth's carbon cycle. This is a major step forward for advancing breakthrough CDR solutions that have the potential to scale to gigatonne levels. 📰 Here are the details: 🔹 How it works: Carbonfuture’s digital MRV system will enable the collection of performance and verification data across the 20 finalists competing for the XPRIZE Carbon Removal, in line with the rigorous standards set by XPRIZE. XPRIZE's verification partners will access this data through the Carbonfuture MRV+ system to verify the projects. 🔹 Why it matters: Carbonfuture and XPRIZE’s partnership is a great example of leaders in CDR innovation coming together to build #trust in carbon removal efforts and accelerate their scalability through rigorous monitoring, reporting, and verification (#MRV). This represents a first-of-a-kind verification effort across all carbon removal pathways: Air, Oceans, Land, and Rocks. 🌱 We’re thrilled to be partnering with XPRIZE to scale the next generation of CDR solutions!
