Carequality has brought together the entire healthcare industry to overcome this challenge by providing a national-level, consensus-built, common interoperability framework to enable exchange between and among health data sharing networks. Carequality brings together a diverse group of representatives, including electronic health record (EHR) vendors, record locator service (RLS) providers and other types of existing networks from the private sector and government, to determine technical and policy agreements to enable data to flow between and among networks, platforms, and geographies, much like the telecommunications industry did for linking cell phone networks. As we align with the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA), we’re committed to supporting fully connected health IT networks that prioritize patient care. From our beginnings with just a handful of networks, we’ve grown over our 10-year history to connect over 600,000 care providers, 50,000 clinics, and 4,200 hospitals, exchanging nearly 1 billion clinical documents each month.
