What does an accessible future look like? One where investments in home and community-based services allow disabled people to live independently and receive care when and where they want it. #DisabilityPrideMonth

We can’t get enough of ‘Take Me Home’! 🎬✨ This critically acclaimed short film has captured our hearts and we’re beyond excited to be working with the amazing Anna Sargent and talented Liz Sargent to amplify this important story. 💖 Anna’s story in 'Take Me Home' highlights real challenges faced by disabled people and caregivers, sharing an authentic and deeply moving story about care. Our recent screening at a White House event to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Olmstead Decision was just the beginning as we kick off the exciting journey of adapting 'Take Me Home' into a feature film! #MoreCareonScreen

5.4 million children under 18 provide care to parents, grandparents, or siblings with chronic medical conditions–marking an over 300% increase in youth caregivers from 2005. But these young caregivers often navigate our broken system alone – with literally no government benefits to lean on. All caregivers, no matter their age, deserve better. We need a care system that works for everyone. https://lnkd.in/ekUCJkxJ

📣 We’ve got an Illinois policy update for you: One month ago, the state budget was signed into law by Governor Pritzker, and while we’re celebrating the victory of these investments in the state’s care systems, we know more is needed to ensure all Illinoisans have aging and disability care, paid family and medical leave with good jobs for care workers We know so much is possible both in Illinois and across our country when we see care as a universal issue that affects us all. We won’t stop until we all have the accessible, affordable, and quality care we need to thrive in our communities.

We’re OOO! Vacations are important. Resting helps prevent burnout, promotes well-being, and allows time with loved ones, which is why the @caringacrossgen team is on a quick summer break! ☀️😎 We all deserve #PaidLeave so we can rest and replenish ourselves and care for our loved ones. We'll see you when we get back next week, rested and ready to continue fighting for the #CareEconomy we need.

Disability Pride. This month. Every month. 61 million people, or 1 in 4 (27%), of adults in the US have some type of disability. To create a future where we all can thrive, we need investments in home and community-based services that would allow disabled people to live independently and receive care when and where they want it. #DisabilityPrideMonth
