Last week our Assistant General Manager, Nicole Guy, and our Recruiter, Chris Moore, had the opportunity to become Birkman Certified! We utilize the Birkman Method within the club to provide insights on how our team can work better together. The Birkman Method encourages each team member to be the best version of themselves by identifying their interests, needs in the workplace, natural strengths and behaviors. We are so thrilled to have two more Birkman Certified Professionals at Carmel!

Each year, our interns have the unique privilege of traveling to various clubs in the area, providing them with invaluable opportunities to network with interns at these other clubs. This year, they had the chance to rotate through numerous prestigious clubs in Charlotte, meeting industry peers and expanding their professional network.

Oftentimes, we take for granted the opportunities available to us in the Carolinas. Take a moment to read this article from Raul Iurk, a past agronomy intern at Carmel, about his fight to make his way into the world of agronomy coming from a country with little golf infrastructure. https://lnkd.in/e5gwv5gR

This week's intern spotlight is on Olivia Poteat. Olivia currently attends the University of South Carolina and is working at the Pool this summer! Our interns have the option to rotate through different areas of the Club for a day and Olivia joined the Communications Team last week. She worked on making our weekly member-wide email, took pictures at a club event, learned how to edit and schedule a post on social media, and got a chance to fly a drone for the first time. Check out this great shot she got of the Charlotte skyline behind our Clubhouse!
