GLP-1 medications have become quite a hot topic lately. And while they can be very effective, they certainly aren't the only (or inherently the best) weight loss solution. Bariatric surgery is another popular and proven choice. In this post, we explore the difference between these two routes and a few compelling reasons why bariatric surgery might be the better option for patients and their employers. https://lnkd.in/eS49-DrS #carrumhealth #surgery #bariatric #glp1

Carrum Health reposted this
❓ What features in a provider network are most important to you? We asked this question in a webinar yesterday to HR benefits leaders and consultants. You can see the results below - topping the chart is ability to demonstrate low costs, investment in symptom management, and adherence to evidence-based care. Right behind those - local access, availability, and designations/certifications. I was pretty surprised to see national reputation/brand name rank so low (likely because I get asked all the time about X or Y big name cancer center and if they are in our network). I was heartened to see these results because I think it shows the growing employer demand to see real value: Are you providing cost-effective care? Are you leveraging clinical pathways or other decision support tools? Are you proactively managing symptoms and reducing ED and hospital visits? And no matter who you are and where you're located, we expect to see this from our provider partners. What do you think?!?! 📣 Shoutout to Davey Daniel, Natalie Dickson, and Dennis Zoet for being such generous experts and sharing the work they're doing to standardize care, keep patients out of the ED and hospital, drive clinical research, and more! Stay tuned for more insights on the Carrum Health page!

#InTheNews What’s top of mind for employers when it comes to cancer care? Skyrocketing costs and wanting better health outcomes for their employees. Our founder and CEO Sach Jain spoke to these concerns and what employers are really looking for in oncology solutions, with Lily Peterson at BenefitsPRO. “Evaluating new and innovative solutions is only made more difficult when there are so many options, many of which are less mature and thus riskier to implement. Self-insured employers are looking for comprehensive solutions with a breadth of network across geographies, cancer types, and wraparound services.” Here are more insights from the discussion. https://lnkd.in/ev2g-Dnc #cancercarebenefits #employeehealthbenefits #cancercarecosts

#majornews We are excited to share Carrum Health has expanded our cancer care solution to over 400 facilities nationwide, and extended coverage of value-based treatment for nearly all cancer types. Carrum now has the largest Centers of Excellence network for cancer care in the country offering high quality local access for members and saving employers up to 30% over traditional fee-for-service care. When employers speak up, we truly hear you! Responding to a critical employer need for value-based care that tackles access, quality and soaring costs, we have worked hard to build our rigorously vetted Carrum Cancer Care network which has grown 5x over the last 18 months and provides local community-based access to our members. Carrum Cancer Care is a comprehensive solution that weaves together a COE network with partnerships for screening and early detection, expert virtual second opinion, and whole-person support for Carrum members and their families throughout the surgical and treatment episode. https://lnkd.in/dgABhPi6 #cancercare #valuebasedcancercare #selfinsuredemployers #cancerbenefits #employeehealthbenefits

#CarrumInTheNews A story in Human Resource Executive by Dawn Kawamoto highlights HR leaders worries about cancer costs and the options they’re pursuing to tackle it. "Given the rising incidence of cancer across workforces and its increasing treatment costs, HR leaders today are concerned with not only employees’ health and wellbeing, but also the impact that covering treatment and prevention can have on their organization’s financial health.” The story highlights how one way to minimize these costs and help employees is through a care concierge program and partnering with a high-quality COE network such as Carrum Health. “Under such a partnership, employers can make agreements with renowned healthcare providers specializing in a particular area," the article says, "that set fixed, lower prices for otherwise expensive procedures under a “bundled” payment program.” https://lnkd.in/enGJvEEw #carrumhealth #cancercare #cancerbenefits #hrexecutive #oncologybenefit #benefits #hr #humanresources
