Over the years, women athletes have been pretty vocal about the #PayGap, using their platform to bring attention to this ongoing issue. Some causes of the gender pay gap include: 💰 Gender segregation in jobs. 💰 Caregiving responsibilities that fall heavily to women (#TheMotherhoodPenalty). 💰 A lack of pay transparency. 💰 Discrimination. 💰 Bias. And it gets worse. Women of color have a higher-than-average #GenderWageGap. Dive into some more quick facts about #GenderPayGap: ⬇️ https://ow.ly/Vei750SPGxY Here's hoping these incredible women athletes get the (#Financial) recognition they deserve. 👀

Do you know what the #GlassCliff is? We break it down for you. 💡 The glass cliff phenomenon occurs when women reach the top levels of the corporate ladder—but only during crisis and without robust organizational support, which essentially sets them up to fail. 📰 In a recent guest column for TriplePundit, Kathrina Robotham, PhD (Director, Research at #Catalyst) talks about how the glass cliff affects #BlackWomen particularly. "Leading an organization through a time of crisis is a difficult job for any leader, but Black women face additional burdens navigating (in)visibility, the pressure to perform and intersectional stereotypes," Kathrina explains. Read the full article here: https://ow.ly/498n50SPvt6 ➡️ Major takeaway for organizations: The glass cliff is not inevitable. Creating a culture of inclusion where everyone thrives will help avoid the #GlassCliff and many (MANY) other issues. Curious to learn more about the topic? Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix: inspiring the next generation of women divers. This week, diver Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix won bronze on a dramatic final in the synchronized 10-metre platform at the #Paris2024 Olympics. Alongside her diving partner Lois Toulson, they became the first #British women to win a medal in this event. 👏 At the young age of 19, she's been making waves (no-pun-intended) since she was 13, when she entered the professional #Diving scene. In recent interviews, Andrea mentioned the importance of a strong #SupportSystem that allowed her to maintain focus and flourish in her sport. On Monday (5 August), Andrea will compete in the Women's 10m Platform Semifinal. We have no doubt her perseverance and resilience will shine! 💙

So, turns out offering #ParentalLeave encourages employees to start their families? Imagine that... 🤔 We love this story shared by Nishant Roy (Chief Impact Officer of #CatalystSupporter company Chobani) during this year's #CatalystAwards. As #WorldBreastfeedingWeek kicks off today, we couldn't think of a better example of how an organization can provide support to working mothers and all working parents than parental leave. 💡 Why is this important? 💡 Back in May, Ipsos released their 2024 Generations Report, which revealed a #Global population decline is set to begin after the middle of this century. According to the report, "decreasing population growth rates (happening right now) will significantly impact workforce planning, pension systems, and economic growth models." ➡️ Equitable #Workplaces that work for everyone are the key to avoiding major societal issues. And an equitable workplace policy such as generous parental leave could help ease the impending #PopulationDecline. 🗞️ Hot off the press! 🗞️ Forbes has just released their list of America's best employers for women and we recognize a lot of names on the list. 👀 Congratulations to supporter companies Cargill, Schneider Electric, Johnson & Johnson, American Electric Power, SEPHORA (2024 #CatalystAwards Winner!) and Northrop Grumman for making into the top 50 on the list! Although a lot still needs to be done in terms of #Leadership representation and the #WageGap, it's encouraging to see organizations making an effort to create workplaces that work for women (and for everyone).
