What We're Reading 📚 It's summertime, which means more free time to spend exploring outdoor spaces. However, not everyone has equal access to these spaces. In her article 'We need to stop believing the outdoors is free,' Nik Elvy breaks down why people with lower incomes are less likely to access natural environments. She also shares ways to 'poverty proof' the outdoors and outdoor learning, starting with acknowledging and discussing the issue. Although this article was written during the lockdown when COVID heightened our awareness of outdoor access, the nature gap still exists today. https://lnkd.in/dtvRYdc #recommendedreading #environmentalequity
