#Nigeria 📌 On July 23, the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) Nigeria in collaboration with the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and the Convention on Business Integrity (CBi), convened an Executive Breakfast Meeting in Lagos. The event brought together over 30 stakeholders from various sectors, including aviation, construction, health, and power, to discuss the institutionalization of efficiency in regulatory agencies in Nigeria. The meeting aimed to inform stakeholders about the ongoing regulatory efficiency project, strengthen the project's methodology through feedback, and motivate active participation in improving Nigeria's business environment. CBi presented a case study on the incremental improvement of regulatory efficiency in the maritime sector, highlighting successes and challenges. LCCI presented the methodology of the benchmarking study on the cost of regulatory efficiency in three key sectors: health, power, and aviation. The event also featured a moderated discussion by Deloitte, which facilitated a rich exchange of ideas. Participants emphasized the need for collective advocacy to drive regulatory reform, effective leadership and political will to facilitate reforms, prompt action to address regulatory inefficiencies, and mainstreaming gender into data collection.
