About us
Chalmette Refining is one of PBF Energy's six refineries. With 500 employees and 200 contractors working onsite, Chalmette Refining is the largest private employer in St. Bernard Parish. The Refinery has a capacity to produce 189,000 barrels of crude oil per day - the equivalent of 1,200,00,000 gallons of gasoline.

Chalmette Refining will be performing maintenance activities on the Refinery’s Public Announcement System on Wednesday, August 14 at 12:00 PM. Although this testing will be held during our regular weekly test time, the siren may be activated on multiple occasions resulting in a longer test window than normal. What a great summer! Thanks to our interns!
Thanks to our fantastic Summer Interns that learned what it's like to work at a refinery and also how to give back to our community! They rolled up their sleeves and planned our career exploration Energy Camps for Nunez Community College Career Exploration students, Greater New Orleans, Inc. – GNO, Inc.'s WISE Women Program, and Tulane University - A.B. Freeman School of Business' Master's in Energy Students! They also spearheaded our annual school supply drive for students at Chalmette Elementary St. Bernard Parish Public Schools!
