UN Secretary General António Guterres has issued his latest #climate SOS, calling on countries to “Save Our Seas” from the compounded effects of greenhouse gasses & rising sea levels. He called it a “crisis entirely of humanity’s making”. We agree!

By using practices like cover cropping and no-till farming, farmers can improve soil health and contribute to a cleaner atmosphere. 🌎 He urges us to support laws that promote these #sustainable practices and get involved in local and national initiatives focused on taking care of our soil. By doing so, we can help create a stronger, more resilient future for our agriculture and the planet.

🔍 🛢️ A recent investigation by House and Senate Democrats has revealed some troubling information about #BigOil. It turns out these companies have been misleading the public about the effectiveness of #carboncapture technology in addressing #climatechange. 💰They advertise it as a crucial solution, but internal documents show they are aware it won’t significantly reduce emissions by 2030. Instead, they primarily use carbon capture to enhance oil production while benefiting from taxpayer funding. 😠 It's frustrating to see corporations prioritize profits over real #climate action. We need to hold the #fossilfuel industry accountable and demand honest solutions to tackle the #climatecrisis.

💰Many politicians underestimate the popularity of #climateaction, which can lead to significant issues, especially when they receive funding from #fossilfuel interests. A striking example occurred during the debate over a gas-fired power plant in New Orleans, where it was revealed by local news outlet The Lens that many supporters in the audience were actually paid actors hired to create the illusion of widespread approval. This incident highlights the lengths companies will go to influence public opinion. ☀️Studies consistently show that local officials often misjudge their constituents’ support for #renewableenergy projects, which can impede the advancement of #cleanenergy initiatives. This disconnect not only hinders local projects but also affects national #climate policies, as lawmakers frequently perceive climate action as less popular than it truly is. Ultimately, the misconception about public opinion on climate issues poses a significant barrier to meaningful progress in addressing the #climatecrisis.

A recent study highlights the dangerous conditions these essential workers endure during crises like the Sonoma County fires, where many risk their health to continue working under hazardous smoke.
