Check out our latest publication, out today in Chem by Cell Press. In this Review, we outline the key role of anion chemistry in determining the structure and nature of contact ion pairs (CIPs), and give our perspective on how controlling these anion-derived CIP interactions can serve as a new design principle for developing high performance electrolytes for next generation batteries and decarbonized manufacturing applications. Huge congrats to Stefan Ilic and Sydney Lavan, Ph.D., without whom this paper would never have come to fruition!
