TechChicago Week provided an opportunity for the #Chicago and broader Midwest ecosystem to gather, collaborate, and ideate on solutions that will change the world. After all the panels, fireside chats, and keynote addresses, there’s something special about creating a space for reflection and planning next steps.
✨ On Monday, our Cisco Foundation, CSO, and Investment teams hosted an Inclusive Futures networking event at our Chicago office. Cisco is committed to building a resilient ecosystem where technology empowers communities to thrive in the face of challenges like climate change. We brought together impact investors, LPs, emerging fund managers, MBAs, non-profit leaders and more to focus on the key ingredient to solving any complex problem — community.
🌟 Thank you to our co-sponsors at Chicago:Blend, VC Unleashed, The University of Chicago Booth School of Business Corporate Sustainability Club and Built@Booth for fueling this moment, and our amazing Cisco Chicago office managers, Stephanie Shields and Phyllis G. who helped me navigate everything from catering to ice. But most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended and shared their reflections.
🌎 As we close what may become the hottest month on record — again — with NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration reporting July 22, 2024, as the hottest day globally, I find hope in remembering that community is the foundation of all our efforts toward building a sustainable and equitable future for all.
