I’m excited to announce I’m teaming up with Lisa Rees of LTR Leadership to host a 1-day Equine-assisted Learning workshop on Saturday, June 1st! It’s titled, “Authentic Presence: Revealing hidden insights from unlikely partners.” It’ll be a day filled with interactive equine activities (the “unlikely partners” are 3 miniature horses!), that will help participants learn how to become more authentically present and emotionally aware. In addition to an abundance of self-reflection and learning, we expect there to be lots of laughter, quizzical reactions, and fun! Registration is limited to 10 participants, so please visit our event site and sign up today! You can learn more about this unique workshop by clicking on the link below. https://lnkd.in/ePsnEPib

How do typical business consultants work? They take time to learn other people’s jobs, study policies and procedures, research best practices, conduct interviews and surveys, write monthly progress reports, and give final presentations that contain findings and recommendations. I did all of that when I used to call myself a consultant. Then I got some horses and reinvented myself. So, what do we do at Chiron Revelations? We inquire and advise. If any of that work mentioned above needs to be done, the client will do it. The more involved they are in designing and implementing their own changes, the more likely those changes will succeed. Clients come to our farm wearing clothes they don’t mind getting dirty. They'll interact with three miniature horses, sometimes one-on-one and other times in groups or teams. We observe horse-horse, horse-human, and human-human interactions and ask the participants questions—lots of questions—about what’s going on. Inside the arena, the horses help them alter their perspectives and provide new insights and ideas. Outside the arena, they reflect on their observations and learn from their experiences. It's a win-win for everyone. Our clients do their own work, come to their own conclusions, and design and implement their own solutions. Our horses get lots of hugs and treats, and we get to be outside with them all day. But the best part is that we all learn and we all have fun! Trust is the foundation of all teams and partnerships. Working with our miniature horses helps participants learn how to quickly build and maintain trust in the horses, themselves, and in others. Reflecting on that experience then helps participants learn how to build and maintain trust in their personal and professional lives. Equine-assisted Learning (EAL) activities can help foster relationships and build stronger communities. Engaging with horses allows people to see themselves and others from different perspectives, helping them learn from their differences and collaborate more freely. EAL activities can also teach people to stay present and focused, helping them become more involved in what their community needs today, and not worrying about the past or trying to predict the future. Why is it easy for us to develop relationships in some instances and difficult in others? Do our biases help or hinder us in some cases? Are our backgrounds, experiences, or personalities similar or different? Perhaps we don't speak the same "language?" The attached article applies Appreciative Inquiry and Equine-assisted Learning principles to two different situations. The setting was a simple construct of people interacting with horses. The people and the horses had never interacted before, which is usually the case in our programs with businesses. The outcomes had been similar from business to business. But something happened one day that begged the question, "Isn't that interesting?" After reading the article, perhaps you'll be asking the same question about how you develop relationships. #Chironrevelations #equineassistedlearning #appreciativeinquiry https://bit.ly/3GNVkbt

How much time in a day do we spend thinking about the past or the future? How productive is that time? Sure, we all need to spend some time in the past reflecting on our experiences--that's how we learn. We also need to spend some time planning and forecasting for the future. What we don't need is to continually relive our past or worry about our future. The past is over and the future is out of our control. We need to be present--living in the present, because now is what's happening--not yesterday and not tomorrow--now. There's no doubt, however, that being in the present and staying there is difficult. Our minds like to wander, be it a trigger word, a smell, a sound, or something that catches our eye--all while we're supposed to be paying attention to something right now. So, how do we strengthen our ability to stay in the present--to stay focused in the moment? It's simple, just get into an arena and interact with horses! Why horses? Because when people experience being with horses, they learn more about themselves and others than they ever could reading a book, watching a video, or listening to a lecture. Horses make us aware when we're not in the present. Their actions and responses to us can help us become aware of what causes us to drift out of the present. It's that awareness that helps people stay focused in the moment. Learn more at https://bit.ly/3syCfpK #equineassistedlearning #reinvention #leadership

Have you ever worked in a team where everything and everyone came together and flowed like water in a stream? How about those teams where it seemed like you were putting together a 10,000-piece Lego® kit with no instructions and no image of what you were building? What made those teams so different? Literature supports that it may have had something to do with trust, psychological safety, interdependency, team maturity, leadership, or another team dynamic. To find out, the team could be observed, take assessments, answer surveys, go through training, or any number of other things. Or, the team could step into an arena with horses, perform a few activities, and discover the who, what, when, how, and why behind their performance. Regardless of a team’s performance, they all have one thing in common—energy. Some energy is easy for us to detect such as speed, excitement, or fear, while horses can detect and respond to energy we can’t sense, such as presence of mind, blood pressure, or doubt. Chiron Revelations partners with horses to help organizations build high-performance teams. Horses add a unique dimension to facilitation that enables participants to experience how they show up in leadership roles and as team members. Activity debriefings using Appreciative Inquiry, then help them explore both individual and team behaviors in a memorable way, accelerating everyone’s learning. A great list of books are below that can help us all remove the phrase "back to normal" from our vocabulary and mindset.

Chief Reinvention Officer | I help corporations thrive in perpetual turbulence and capitalize on disruption | Teaching my science-based methods to help 1B people reinvent continuously

Nearly every company I know is waiting for “things to go back to normal.” It’s been 15 years since the 2008 recession - and we are still waiting. Here’s the harsh but fact-based truth: that normal is not coming back. The rules of the game have changed. Fundamentally. Permanently. The new “normal” is governed by an entirely new set of rules. And to help you understand these rules, I put together a list of books that won awards and accolades - but have largely been ignored by the business community. Let me know in the comments what you’d add to this list… …and which book you would like to dive into first 👇 The new normal is different. But it has a LOT to offer. These books will help you understand how to harvest the new opportunities of the permanently turbulent world. #strategy #futureofwork #turbulence #disruption #reinvention #booklove ----------- Does this resonate?
