💡 Meet the Chloris Tech Team, the powerhouse behind the Chloris Technology! Will Nash is a Senior Geospatial Data Engineer with experience as a software engineer, having developed production-level code for steering proton beams in cancer treatment. At Chloris, he contributes to both the data science and engineering teams, ensuring that the large-scale processing of our data is computationally efficient and that the data output is of the highest quality. Will has also been instrumental in estimating our biomass measurement uncertainty, leveraging expertise from his PhD in particle physics. Alicja Kotarba is a GIS Analyst at Chloris and one of the earliest team members, providing valued services to our customers from the start. She bridges the gap between our cutting-edge data and our customers' unique needs by working across both tech and customer teams. Alicja ensures our data meets the highest quality standards. She was honored with the GIScience Research Group’s Masters Dissertation Award for her research on London’s street network. #dreamteam #startup #geospatial

Our Co-Founder, Giulio Boccaletti, was recently featured in the latest episode of the primetime Italian television program Noos - The Adventure of Knowledge, hosted by the renowned paleontologist and science communicator, Alberto Angela. If you want to practice your Italian, check out the clip showcasing Vallombrosa, a forest in the Tuscan Apennines. When the first Italian forestry institute was founded there in 1861, Italy had only 2 million hectares of forest. Today, that number has grown to over 11 million hectares. 💡 Meet the Chloris Tech Team, the powerhouse behind the Chloris Technology! Jarrod Wong is the Head of Engineering and the Founding Engineer at Chloris. He has led the development of our software and infrastructure for petabyte-scale data processing from day one. In his daily work, Jarrod manages the engineering team, coordinates the efforts of the science team, and aligns technical work with the commercial team and product development. Jarrod also continues to do hands-on technical work, primarily focused on the distributed computing systems that form the backbone of Chloris’s data transformation and machine learning workflows. Jarrod’s degree is in Computer Science with a specialization in Data Science and a minor in Environmental Science. Jenny Fung is a Senior Full-stack Software Engineer at Chloris. She brings 10 years of experience building geospatial web applications for government, nonprofit, academic, and private sector clients and has a Bachelor's in environmental biology and international studies. At Chloris, she builds innovative, user-friendly features into the Platform that enhance how customers can interact with Chloris data. At Chloris, Jay has designed and built a significant portion of the Chloris Platform from the ground up. From interactive maps and graphs, to APIs and databases, Jay continuously improves how you get the most out of our data! Giacomo Caria is a Data Scientist with a PhD in Particle Physics. At Chloris, he designs and refines our machine learning algorithms that transform satellite imagery into detailed data layers, which are critical for our accurate estimation of aboveground biomass.
