We lost a treasured member of our museum family with the recent passing of our dear Karen Venetian. For more than 26 years, “Miss Karen” was part of our Programs-on-Wheels team, bringing fun, educational and engaging experiences to schools, libraries and parks throughout our region. Whether sharing fascinating information about dinosaurs, showcasing her love and knowledge of Cincinnati history or encouraging our innovation and invention skills just like her (Miss Karen designed the Fisher-Price Play Family School!), she was sure to leave everyone she met inspired and full of joy. As we mourn the loss of our vibrant and beloved colleague, we rejoice in knowing that her legacy will live on in the many thousands of students and teachers who met Miss Karen.

Attention! Calling all humans! Try your hand at laparoscopy, see how your muscles move as you do and so much more while you explore and learn about nine different body systems in our newest permanent exhibit Advancing Health presented by Mayfield Brain & Spine. This new exhibit space is all about inspiring the next generation of medical workers in part by showcasing the work of local medical professionals. So last week, we had some of the individuals that are featured IN the exhibit drop by to check it all out for the first time, and it was so fun to see them experience the space their work has inspired. And now, it’s officially open for everyone to learn more about their bodies and how to best maintain their health. We’re elated to finally invite you in so, without further ado, see you soon? Advancing Health is located across from The Cave plaza in the Museum of Natural History & Science.
