The City of Hallandale Beach is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of the community in a fiscally responsible manner by providing superior services that meet the needs of our community as well as plan for their future needs through continued communication. Hallandale Beach is conveniently located between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, next to Aventura with access to the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood and Miami International airports, Port Everglades, Port of Miami, and I-95. Visitors as well as residents can enjoy beautiful beaches, exciting par-mutual wagering, and comfortable hotels. Two of South Florida premiere race tracks are located in Hallandale Beach: • Gulf Stream Park, home of the world-class thoroughbred horse racing • Mardi Gras Gaming, which features exciting dog racing action six months a year Hallandale Beach is a community of 37,113 year-round residents, according to the 2010 census. It is a full-service City with its own Police and Fire/Rescue departments.

We are excited to bring a fresh perspective to FREE public transportation. This innovative fleet of electric buses in Hallandale Beach became a reality through a generous grant from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), amounting to $3.4 million. This grant was further enhanced by a matching contribution of $2.5 million from the city. Of this, $1.9 million was specifically allocated by the Hallandale Beach Community Redevelopment Agency for the purchase of buses and charging infrastructure. Altogether, this investment totals an impressive $5.9 million towards the cloud fleet.

This week, we celebrated Government Finance Professionals Week by recognizing the unsung heroes of our Budget and Finance Departments with our engaging "Did You Know?" series. Each day this week, we shared fascinating insights with city staff about the critical work these teams perform to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of their work. At the March 20 City Commission Meeting, our Finance Director and Budget and Finance Department team members were honored with a proclamation for their commitment to fiscal responsibility for our city. This was more than just a formal affair, it was a heartfelt recognition of the support and dedication that underpin our city’s financial health and transparency. We owe a tremendous thank you to the Mayor, Vice Mayor, City Commission, City Manager, and City Administration for their steadfast support and to every team member for their dedication and hard work. The proclamation received from our City Commission formally celebrated our collective commitment to excellence in government finance. Together, we’re dedicated to advancing our community's well-being through exceptional public service.
