We celebrated yesterday as Midland County officially adopted the Vision Zero plan, joining the City of Midland and bringing our community one step closer to safer roads. Vision Zero is a collaborative effort between the City of Midland and Midland County with a goal to eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries by 2050. The initiative is part of a broader Safety Action Plan that focuses on roadway safety projects. These projects include improvements to roadways, intersections, sidewalk and bicycle infrastructure, and lighting. Thank you to everyone who is working hard to make this vision a reality!

Today was the last day of my internship with the City Secretary's Office in my home of Midland, TX. This summer, I developed an understanding with Texas State Library's Records Management guidelines for local government and spent much time working on a plan for further digitization strategies. I also got to attend numerous City Council, Development, Agenda, and Board Meetings. I assisted in the facilitation of City Council Meetings, while also becoming familiar with minutes keeping and revising. More than this, however, I got to meet and know members of this organization who often go unseen and unnoticed for all of the hard work they do. To the City, my office, and the friends I made this summer, thank you.
