About us

The mission of the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is to provide public safety services to the people in Clackamas County so they can experience a safe and secure community. Clackamas County is one of Oregon's most scenic and diverse regions -- ranging from urban to rural farmland to the gorgeous Mt. Hood National Forest. It's an hour-and-a-half from the Pacific Ocean. Clackamas County is home to two major interstates and over 7,900 miles of roadways. Eleven cities can be found in the county's 1,879 square miles, but over 87 percent of county land is rural. It’s Oregon's 18th-largest county and nearly the size of the State of Delaware. Roughly 423,000 people live in Clackamas County, making it the third most populous county in the state. Mt. Hood's 11,239-foot summit -- less than an hour from the county's suburban north end -- offers year-round skiing and snowboarding. Over 10,000 people climb its peak every year. The county is also home to nearly 140 miles of waterways. These waterways provide excellent opportunities for fishing and other water sports. The climate is temperate year-round, make it the perfect place for the outdoor enthusiast.

The ten-hour shoplifting detail included Sheriff’s Office Patrol deputies and detectives working alongside the Oregon Department of Justice and Fred Meyer loss-prevention personnel. During the operation, law enforcement contacted retail theft suspects as they exited the Fred Meyer at 14700 SE McLoughlin Blvd. in Oak Grove. The mission led to 10 custodies (9 adults & 1 juvenile) on multiple charges, as well as the recovery of more than $500 worth of merchandise. Additionally, four arrest warrants were cleared. • We appreciate all of our partners who help make these missions possible. Thank you!

The dedication from Clackamas County Sheriff's Office to aggressively continue to focus on retail theft and ORC in the greater Portland area is appreciated from ORCAOR and its retail partners. Yesterday CCSO partnered with Milwaukie Police Department, Oregon, Oregon Department of Justice ORC Task Force, Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office, Target, Kohl's, and Old Navy AP/LP teams to conduct a theft mission resulting in 24 arrest and gathering intel on fencing operations. Great work to everyone involved and special thanks to Detective Michael Zacher for his continued efforts fighting ORC and coordinating this mission. #collaboration #ORC #ORCAOR https://lnkd.in/gq2DYKzQ

We are incredibly grateful and happy to share that after months of recovery, both Deputy Blair and Deputy McKenna are back in uniform and once again patrolling Clackamas County. On June 30, 2023, deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a business in the area of SE 70th Ave and SE Johnson Creek Blvd in unincorporated Clackamas County. While the deputies were contacting two suspects, both deputies were shot by one of the suspects. Deputy Blair was struck in the arm and Deputy McKenna was stuck in his ballistic vest and abdomen. Other responding deputies rendered aid before they were transported to OHSU. Thankfully both deputies were released that same day. The two suspects, Tyler J. Scott, age 33 of Portland, and Joseph R.
