🚨 Policy Update: Big Boost for Indian Health Service in House FY 2025 Bill! 🚨 On June 27, 2024, the House Appropriations Subcommittee dropped the draft bill for FY 2025. Here’s the scoop: Total Funding: $38.478 billion for Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies. IHS Funding: $8.56 billion, which is a huge 23% bump from FY24 and $360 million more than what Biden asked for. Advance Appropriations: $5.98 billion for FY26. Chairman Cole (R-OK) said this bill “safeguards the sacred oath this nation made to protect Native American communities.” What’s Next? June 28, 2024: Subcommittee meets to mark up the bill.
