We’re paving the way for a greener future—literally! Our latest project at at Arrowhead Stadium is not just about giving the Kansas City Chiefs a new home for their Mean Green Recycling Machine; it’s also a milestone for us. For the first time ever, we’re using a laser screed paving machine to ensure the concrete is perfectly poured and leveled. This high-tech unit features a telescoping boom and placement head that makes quick work of leveling and vibrating liquid concrete. The head includes a plow to evenly spread the concrete, an auger to remove excess material, and a vibrator to compact it for a smooth finish. Plus, an onboard electronic system guides the height and angle for optimal results. With roughly 250 cubic yards of concrete being poured from Clarkson’s own batch plant, we’re all in on making this project a success. The Clarkson team reached a key milestone last week on the K-96 patching project south of Hutchinson, Kansas, with the completion of pavement grinding! With approximately 15 miles of patching complete along K-96 from the K-14 junction east to the Reno and Sedgwick county lines, we're moving full speed ahead. Striping crews are hard at work now to ensure the project stays on schedule for completion by the end of the month. Selected as The Builders' Project of the Year by a General Contractor (over $100 million), this state-of-the-art terminal was a collaborative effort between Clark Construction Group, The Weitz Company, and Clarkson Construction Company. Completed ahead of schedule and on budget in February 2023, it stands as the single largest infrastructure project in Kansas City's history.
