The Canadian Climate Policy Partnership (C2P2), led by Dr. Jennifer Winter, focuses on making Canadian climate policies accessible, supporting strategies to adapt to and mitigate climate change, and helping Canada achieve its net-zero emissions target. C2P2 has developed a comprehensive, downloadable database of 327 climate-change-mitigation policies across Canada, complemented by a searchable online platform hosted by 440 Megatonnes. Funding News: Space Intelligence has raised Series A funding, led by AzurX Space Ventures with participation from Intercontinental Exchange.  The funding will be used to expand their global nature mapping data, particularly to support forest carbon projects and corporate nature impact monitoring. The company, founded by experts in remote sensing and forest ecology, uses satellite data and AI to create highly accurate, audit-grade datasets for land and forest cover. Mackinnon, Bennett & Company (MKB & Co.) has closed $145 million for its third cleantech fund, MKB Fund III, with contributions from Canada Growth Fund (CGF), Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), Investissement Québec (IQ), and BDC. This new fund follows MKB Fund II, which closed at $175 million in 2021, and highlights a continued commitment from key investors to support the development and expansion of Canadian cleantech ventures. 🗣 BDC Senior Vice-President Paula Cruickshank highlighted the fund’s importance, stating, “The Fund’s orientation on late and growth-stage opportunities responds to a critical need in the Canadian market, supporting the often-complex capital requirements of homegrown cleantech ventures and facilitating their expansion. BNP Paribas and CIBC have committed to financing HH2E AG’s 100-megawatt green hydrogen production plant in Lubmin, Germany, marking a key step towards the project’s final investment decision, expected by October 2024.
