🎉 Time's fun when you're having flies - Kermit the Frog Cheers to completing the Climatebase Fellowship! 12 weeks of intense learning, joyful connections, and new experiences (like bug proteins 😉). 🪄 Thank you to the CB Team - especially Vesselina Apostolova, Kendall Jenkins, and Aaron Pins - for creating this lab. Learning directly from experts across 12+ sectors and 100+ panels was a privilege. 💚 Thank you to my Fellow 5s and the whole CB community. Connecting with you brought fun to my life every week. I hope to keep learning and building together. (Message me!) 💫 Motivation follows action. The more I expand my climate literacy, support climate projects, and join climate initiatives, the more optimistic and excited I am about climate solutions. When each of us does what we can, where we are, with what we have, we solve our greatest challenges. So - of course - this isn't an end, it's a new beginning! Let's go 🌈 #climate #womenleaders

Today was bittersweet as we celebrated the conclusion of the Cohort 5 Climatebase Fellowship. Over the past 12 weeks, I immersed myself in a curriculum covering critical topics such as energy, transportation, nature-based solutions, engineered carbon removal, and more. These informative sessions were enriched by insights from guest speakers and fellow-led discussions, offering unique perspectives from diverse backgrounds. While the curriculum was outstanding, the community made the Fellowship truly special. We had numerous opportunities to connect through community-building sessions, interest groups, 1:1s, and capstone projects. It was an honor to be surrounded by other passionate problem solvers dedicated to building a brighter tomorrow. My experience culminated in two capstone projects. The first focused on researching geospatial foundation models and their applications in addressing climate challenges. The second, Homegrown, aimed to foster a sustainable local food ecosystem by directly connecting consumers, home growers, and small farms. Fortunately, the journey doesn't end here! I am excited to continue expanding my network, skill set, and knowledge as I embark on a lifelong mission to make our world a better place.

It's been an inspiring handful of months being part of Climatebase's 5th cohort and having completed Stanford University Graduate School of Business's Sustainability Strategies program. Both challenged me and complemented each other in unexpected and meaningful ways. Climatebase gave me the opportunity to design, pitch, and lead my own sustainability-focused interior design startup team. Weekly curriculum sessions and inspiring keynote speakers deepened my understanding of climate innovation & sustainability practices (particularly circular economy). I've taken those learnings and integrated them into my vision of using sustainable design and technology to help people live in spaces they love with minimal environmental impact. Special thanks to: Irete Hamdani Melody Lee Joey Baugh Tara Marathe Michal (Mickey) Pearl Tara Marathe Macklin Fluehr Emily Grubman Vesselina Apostolova David P. Evan Hynes Neil Yeoh Julia Akker Zander White and many others on the Climatebase team. Stanford University Graduate School of Business's Sustainability Strategies program gave me the tools to create and implement business strategies that not only create value, but are rooted in environmental stewardship, social impact & responsibility. Whether it was refining my pitch (thanks Runo Okiomah, LEED AP) or getting thoughtful feedback (thank you Cicely Wouters (Heuvink), this program led by Philippe-Alexandre Grard and Eva Morales opened my eyes to untapped areas for impact. #Sustainability #Innovation #ClimateTech

Business strategist, team leader, and keen relationship builder who cares deeply about the built environment and the future of our planet
Earlier this year, I decided I wanted to deepen and broaden my understanding of the climate challenges and solutions. I wanted to look beyond the built environment and transportation, to topics like energy, carbon accounting, circularity, and corporate sustainability. As a lifelong #LearnItAll (thanks Julia Polk!), I am a compulsively curious person, and wanted to go beyond the headlines to better understand the science behind the problems, the technology behind the solutions, and the people and organizations leading the way. I was thrilled to be accepted into the Climatebase Fellowship program earlier this spring as a member of Cohort 5. The 12-week program is full of incredible content from the OnePointFive (opf.degree) team. If you want to learn about green hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuel, carbon capture, or get an intro to nature-based solutions, it's all there. But it was the PEOPLE that really made the experience worthwhile. This includes the generous community organizers (like Evan Hynes and Vesselina Apostolova), the encouraging career coaches (like Magda Kufrej), and the informative startup guides (like David Pervan,). But it was also the incredible folks that have become collaborators and friends through the capstone projects. This includes Mira Mishra, Erin Lee Martin, Julia Polk, Marina Rayman, Anu Singla, Keegan M., Jazmin Moledina, Daniel Epstein, Betsy Carlton-Gysan, Teena Thankachan, and many others. (More to come and share on those capstones!) Climatebase is now accepting applications for their 6th cohort, and I highly recommend it! Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, and I'm happy to share an alumni referral code that will give you a 20% discount. To take a quote from one of my favorite kid's books, "no one can do everything, but everyone can do something." Find your something! #climatesolutions

A sabbatical, a fellowship, and a chance encounter have culminated in an exciting new venture to tackle climate challenges in the Himalayas! As part of my ongoing sabbatical focused on personal and professional growth, I recently completed the Climatebase fellowship, immersing myself in various climate industries and their complex challenges. As the program progressed, I not only expanded my climate knowledge but also experienced a reignition of passion, creativity, compassion, and overall well-being. As many of you know, I'm a travel enthusiast. Naturally, I'm seizing this opportunity to explore sustainable and regenerative travel, including planning a journey to the Himalayas. During my research, I've been struck by the stark reality of climate change in the region. The rapid melting of glaciers, increasingly erratic weather patterns, shifting rainfall, and rising temperatures are profoundly impacting both local communities and wildlife. Serendipitously, I connected with Bibek Pant through Climatebase—a passionate engineering graduate from Nepal dedicated to empowering Nepalese youth to contribute meaningfully to their country's sustainable future. Collaborating with Bibek and two other exceptional teammates, Tara Marathe and Manon Jacquin, we've developed a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for Nepal Climate Hub. This platform aims to address existing challenges and inspire climate action in Nepal. I'm thrilled to share the news of our successful launch with you all. I invite you to visit Nepalclimatehub.org and explore this social project. As my sabbatical continues, I look forward to connecting with more like-minded professionals and leaders, and further growth and opportunities to design for good.
Today I am thrilled to announce the launch of Nepal Climate Hub, a centralized platform designed to educate, connect, and empower Nepal's young people to take action for a climate-resilient Nepal! 🌍✨ My heartfelt gratitude goes to my incredible Founding Team—Elaine Shum, Manon Jacquin, and Tara Marathe—whose support has been invaluable in bringing this vision to life. 🙌 Big thanks to the Climatebase fellowship program that brought us together and the Nepal climate champions who guided our efforts: Shreya K.C., Prakriti Koirala, Abhishek Shrestha, Dikshya Subedi, Sagar Koirala, Arnab Chaudhary, Anjali Sai Chalise, Monica Neupane, Ghanshyam Bhattarai, Preity Gurung, Pratisha Joshi, Anita Panthi, Tashi Lhazom, Gauri Jaiswal, Maya Kandel, Pratima Khadgi, Rubina Bhattarai and Jastina Kirati Rai. This has been an incredible year-long journey and I'm excited for what's ahead! 🚀 Stay tuned for further updates and visit nepalclimatehub.org to learn more and join the movement. 🏔💚
