Last week, some of our team members got to spend a sunny Seattle afternoon on a site tour of Chapter Building II in the University District. Chapter Building II, the first privately owned life science building in the U District, is 150,000 square feet and features 10 stories of Class A life science space designed with taller floor-to-floor heights and more robust infrastructure for venting, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing to accommodate future life sciences tenants. Project also includes ground-floor retail, a rooftop deck, and amenity space. CollinsWoerman worked with Touchstone and Portman Holdings on the project. It’s exciting to see this project’s progress! #designwithcertainty #seattlearchitecture #seattledesign #udistrict

CollinsWoerman is excited to share the University of Washington-Gonzaga University Health Partnership Building won two awards at the AIA Spokane Design Awards last week — Excellence in Sustainability and Citation for Design Excellence. Our team was honored to accept the awards alongside McKinstry and Bouten Construction. The building’s design integrates students and faculty from UW and GU to help advance rural healthcare education and research. The all-electric facility utilizes an open-source ground heat pump that provides an energy use intensity (EUI) in the mid-40s — 45% better than a standard building. A group of our team members recently visited the Chapter I building site in the University District neighborhood. The 12-story building will feature 240,000 sf of office space, retail, and rooftop amenities with sweeping views of the city. The project is targeting LEED Gold and Fitwel certifications with sustainability built at the core of its design. CollinsWoerman worked with Touchstone and Portman Holdings to design Chapter I and Chapter II to enhance the fabric of the neighborhood while complementing its existing character, connect university research and academics with local industries, and create opportunities for pedestrian connections across the site. Our team was excited to see Chapter Building I’s progress! #designwithcertainty #seattlearchitecture #seattledesign #udistrict
