About us
At ComEd, we believe in being an energy partner, not just an energy provider. Being a provider means we deliver electricity to over 4 million customers across northern Illinois, which accounts for about 70 percent of the state’s population. We do so safely and reliably because we are driven by the innovation that comes from the industry expertise our employees offer. And we're committed to pursuing best-in-class performance so that our customers receive the quality service they expect and deserve. We have championed investments in technology that help shorten outages and make them less frequent, and those investments empower our customers to make smart choices about energy usage. Being a partner means we also help our customers discover new ways to save money on electric bills, while also showing how they can help the environment by decreasing their carbon footprint. We also support a range of initiatives that make a difference in people’s lives. Our commitment focuses on education, environment, arts and culture, and community development. At ComEd, #PoweringLives isn’t just a motto. It is the driving force behind everything we do. Learn more about ComEd anytime at www.ComEd.com.

#PoweringLives isn’t just a generic part of our mission and values. It’s the force behind everything we do. Shane McCoy, one of our project managers, was recently recognized as one of Exelon's Employee Volunteer Award recipients for his dedication in making a positive impact with local youth in #OurCommunities. Growing up on Chicago’s west side, Shane understands firsthand how critical mentors are in influencing local students and supporting them through the challenges they face. For the past three years, he’s been mentoring and tutoring students at INVISIBLE BOOK BAG INC, a community-based organization that offers free, needs-based services and programs for children and families in Chicago. “Growing up, I had mentors who believed in me and helped me see my potential. Now, I want to be that person for others,” Shane said. “It’s about paying it forward and creating opportunities for the next generation.” Learn more about Shane and join us in congratulating him for this outstanding achievement: http://spr.ly/6002cHR6m

Update from the field: While power was restored for our residential customers by the end of last week, some of our equipment serving industrial customers near Channahon sustained more significant damage. Our hardworking crews have continued to work around the clock for an entire week to restore these customers that were impacted by the 100+ mph winds that ripped through our service territory last Monday evening, and we're happy to share that we expect power to be restored early tomorrow morning.

Check out this #LineworkerAppreciationDay video message from from Gil C. Quiniones , our president and CEO, and David Perez, our EVP and COO, as they reflect on the critical and often hazardous work our lineworkers. 👇
Today, July 10, is National Lineworker Appreciation Day – a time to recognize the dedicated employees responsible for powering all aspects of our daily lives. We celebrate our ComEd lineworkers, who go above and beyond to support the communities we serve. In addition to safely installing, maintaining, and repairing components of the electrical grid, our overhead and underground lineworkers serve as emergency first responders answering the call whenever a power need arises. Check out this video that Gil C. Quiniones and I put out there recognizing them.
