📢 Exciting News! Nominations are now open for the 2024 PA Prevention Awards! This has become one of my favorite initiatives of the Commonwealth Prevention Alliance as it provides a fantastic opportunity to recognize the incredible work of our peers in (and outside) the field of prevention, in one of the following categories: 🌟 Tomorrow’s Leader, Today (Early Career Prevention Professional) 🌟 Makes Good Happen 🌟 Catalyst for Change 🌟 Embodies Amazing 🌟 We Is Better Than Me 🌟 Next Generation Influencer (Youth Impact Award) For all the details and to nominate: https://lnkd.in/ezx8mmMG 🏆 You're invited to nominate individuals or groups who are positively impacting our communities through their prevention efforts. Whether it's a peer, friend, co-worker, coalition, youth leader, prevention provider, SAP team, or community champion, your nomination can help recognize their invaluable contributions. 🎆 We also welcome nominations for individuals or organizations not exclusively in the prevention field but who have significantly impacted your community through prevention policies, initiatives, strategies, or collaborations.

This week brought a moment of deep honor (though, let's be honest, humility took a backseat as I share this 😉) as I was recognized as a CADCA Advocate of the Year. I'm truly amazed by the dedication of Sue Thau and CADCA's unwavering support of prevention funding, programs, and coalitions at the federal level. Advocacy can be such a wild ride. It's a path paved with small victories, a couple of significant wins, and, of course, its fair share of disappointments. Yet, amidst it all, what always resonates are the friendships forged and the stories shared. The victories we achieve in support of youth, communities, and families are what make every step of this journey worthwhile. I am immensely grateful to the Commonwealth Prevention Alliance for their unwavering support of my advocacy efforts. And, most importantly, to the dedicated prevention professionals in PA who champion this cause every single day. Here's to continuing the journey together 🚀 #LetsGo #CADCA #CPA #Prevention #Advocacy

States like Pennsylvania, Colorado, & Washington work with experts to help schools put in place science-backed prevention programs. While some systems like to push a prevention narrative that supports their agenda, PA and a few other states are truly leading the way in utilizing prevention science to implement and facilitate school-based programming. https://lnkd.in/ekypnKjf
