PG&E is proposing another rate hike before the end of 2024. As Erin Hawkins, our Vice President of Programs, highlighted in yesterday's ABC News segment, rising utility costs for essential services deepen inequities and can have devastating impacts on those already struggling to make ends meet.   This year alone, Community Action Marin has assisted over 500 households, distributing more than $500,000 in utility assistance from federal and county sources. No one should have to choose between keeping the lights on and feeding their family.   We are grateful to Cornell Barnard and ABC7 News for amplifying this urgent issue, and we remain committed to ensuring that every household has the resources to meet its basic needs. ••• PG&E propone otra subida de tarifas antes de finales de 2024. Celebrating the re-opening of Short School in San Rafael as a dedicated Early Learning Center to ensure bright futures for children! The ribbon-cutting ceremony lifted up a powerful partnership between Community Action Marin and San Rafael City Schools. CAM is proud to provide four high-quality preschool classrooms while SRCS delivers Transitional Kindergarten and Early Intervention programs. Together, our shared focus is on both educational and social service outcomes for children and families that increase well-being in our community. We are grateful for the spirited gathering of San Rafael City Schools representatives, Community Action Marin team members, local leaders, dedicated teachers, enthusiastic parents, and, of course, our wonderful students.
