What inspires us? Our program participants and graduates. Seeing their successes during the program and after they graduate inspires us to work harder so that we may help more people in Pittsburgh. #CookingUpOpportunity is what we do here at CKPgh.

We're shining our Student Spotlight on Corial "Coco" LittleJohn. This young chef-in-training has a cooking partner at home to pass on what she learns during her days at CKPgh. Press "play" to hear from Corial herself. We have our supporters to thank for moments like these. Your support allows us to provide free culinary training to community members who want to better their lives and their communities through food. And because we understand that not everyone can afford to take time off to learn new skills, when someone goes through our program, they are PAID for their work. We can also provide other support such as a bus pass to get to our facility. THANK YOU. #CKPgh #communitykitchenpittsburgh #CookingUpOpportunity #pghnonprofit #workforcedevelopment #pittsburgh #StudentSpotlight #ckpstudent

Today is "World Refugee Day". On this day, we celebrate the strength, courage, and perseverance of millions of refugees. CKP is very diverse, with students coming in from all walks of life, including refugees. We'd like you to meet Ted and get a glimpse into his story. We're so proud of how far he has come, and we're looking forward to his successful apprenticeship completion with Nancy's Revival. We love that you're a part of the CKP family, Ted! **** Contributions make dreams like Ted’s possible. Our culinary training program is free to each and every student. We provide them with their uniforms as well as supports such as a monthly bus pass to get to our kitchen for trainings. We also understand that learning new skills can take a lot of time and not everyone is afforded the luxury of taking time off to learn those skills to better their lives, so we PAY THEM while they train. We want to help support them in every way we can to help them to better their lives and their communities. “We use food as the foundation to change lives and strengthen communities.” If you’d like to join us in our mission and help make a huge impact in our community, visit our website to learn about how you can support as an employer partner, catering with us, attending Guest Chef dinners, volunteering, making an in-kind donation, making a monetary donation, etc. Visit us as CKPgh.org. #CKPgh #communitykitchenpgh #WorldRefugeeDay #CookingUpOpportunity #pghfood #culinarytraining #workforcedevelopment

“As we pause for a day of observance for Juneteenth, let us reflect on the importance of this Federal Holiday. We celebrate this holiday on June 19th to ‘commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the US. The holiday was first celebrated in Texas, where on that date in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil War, enslaved people were finally informed and declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation.’ We observe this day with our communities, students, and staff. We recognize it as a time of reflection, healing, and celebration. As the saying goes ‘those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it’. Cook a delicious meal for people that you love and enjoy the beautiful summer weather!” ~ CKPgh Executive Chef, Bruce Harris #juneteenth #ckpgh #communitykitchenpgh #pgh #nonprofitorganization
