The Biden-Harris Administration has introduced a groundbreaking final rule that ensures mental health care coverage for 175 million Americans will now match physical health care coverage. This landmark step is a major move toward establishing mental health care as a fundamental right for all, not a privilege. As a behavioral health center, we are thrilled to support these transformative new requirements. They will: -Enhance Access: Health plans are now mandated to evaluate their provider networks and payment rates to ensure parity in mental health and substance use care. -Close Loopholes: Today's final rule extends MHPAEA compliance to over 200 more health plans, closing a loophole and protecting 120,000 additional consumers. -Strengthen Protections: The rule enforces fair and equitable practices in mental health care, including reducing restrictive prior authorization processes and improving payment rates for providers. These advancements are set to improve access to care and reduce out-of-pocket costs for families, making mental health care more affordable and equitable. At Connections, we celebrate these significant changes and look forward to their positive impact on our communities. Together, we are taking a monumental step toward a future where mental health care is accessible to everyone who needs it. https://lnkd.in/eFki59JS #Mentalhealthparity #MHPAEA #mentalhealthcare #healthcare #mentalhealth #behavioralhealth #crisiscare #ConnectionsHealthSolutions

Special thank you to Congresswoman Suzan DelBene, a U.S. House Committee on Ways & Means committee member, for taking the time to tour the newly opened Connections Health Solutions #crisisresponsecenter now serving individuals in King County, WA! This center represents a paradigm shift in our approach to mental health and addiction care. It’s not just about providing a service; it’s about transforming the way we view and treat those in crisis. Instead of facing incarceration or inadequate care in emergency rooms, individuals will receive the dedicated attention and treatment necessary for recovery. Together, we are creating a model of care in the State of Washington that prioritizes the dignity and well-being of every individual, making a profound difference in the lives of many as national leader in #reimaginecrisis response. 🗓️ Mark Your Calendars: September 11 at noon ET! 🗓️ In honor of #SuicidePreventionMonth, join NIMH and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) for a livestream event on suicide prevention in health care settings. 🚨 Why It Matters: Suicide is a major cause of death in the U.S., and many people at risk of suicide don’t get the mental health care they need. In many cases, people see a health care provider in the weeks or months before a suicide attempt, making medical settings like emergency rooms and doctor’s offices key points for prevention and intervention. 🔍 Featured Experts: • Stephen O’Connor, Ph.D. - Chief, Suicide Prevention Research Program, NIMH • Richard McKeon, Ph.D., M.P.H. - Senior Advisor for 988 and Behavioral Health Crisis Office, SAMHSA • Brian K. Ahmedani, Ph.D. - Director, Center for Health Policy & Health Services Research, Henry Ford Health System 📺 Tune In: Watch the live event on NIMH’s Facebook page or YouTube channel. Don't miss this opportunity to learn and engage with leading experts. 💬 Have questions? Ask the experts during the livestream in the comments section!
