On June 5, the #LabelFrancÉducation award ceremony took place at the Miller Elementary School in Holliston, Massachusetts! The Consul General, Mustafa SOYKURT presented the school with the official label plaque. This school has offered an immersive program celebrating French culture and language for over fifty years. Every day, dozens of students are introduced to the French-speaking world and discover its riches. Congratulations to the teachers, to their coordinator Claire Picard, who completes a 25-year career in the school's bilingual French stream this year, and to Ida Pappas, head of the French immersion program! Consul General Mustafa SOYKURT paid tribute to the brave soldiers who landed on the beaches of Normandy 80 years ago today. A moving ceremony at the USS Constitution Museum in the presence of Cmdr. Billie J. Farrell, British Consul General Dr Peter Abbott OBE, and Canadian Consul Meaghan Sunderland. #lestweforget Le Consul général Mustafa Soykurt a rendu hommage aux courageux soldats qui ont débarqué sur les plages de Normandie il y a 80 ans aujourd'hui. This weekend, a group of American heroes touched down in France. Every summer, the Best Defense Foundation, with the support of Delta Airlines, brings US WWII veterans back to Normandy as part of their "Battlefield Return" program. These men and women who risked their lives by running headfirst into danger are now welcomed to French shores with parades, celebrations and dancing. 2024 marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day–a fact that makes this trip even more meaningful.
