An Ode to the Doers. You are weighing heavy on my shoulders this week as we do the hard and necessary work to build a better tomorrow. I see you in my mind. Digging in the mud, testing the new technology, planting the trees, crunching the numbers, sweating the bills, navigating the quicksand that constitutes the market upon which your business is built. I see those of you who left comfortable and secure desk jobs to wander the wilderness of entrepreneurship because you wanted to make tangible and visible progress towards a better world. I see your shoulders bowed and your spirits flagging because a small, vocal corner of the policy echo chamber we live in these days is telling you that your work isn't good enough, over and over and over again. Or worse, that your work is only the product of greed, and corruption. I know better. and so do you. You are the doers. The brave climate leaders working tirelessly to make positive change in the world with the tools that you've been given. You are climate champions. You are climate heroes. You put a price on carbon in real life every day and make meaningful, lasting, positive change in the world. I see you. I celebrate you. I thank you. We will prevail. I can't promise it won't get worse before it gets better, but it will get better.
