BOI REMINDER - With less than 5 months remaining to report your Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) to FinCEN, it's crucial to take care of this Federal compliance item as soon as possible. The penalties for BOI reporting violations are levied at $591/day, effective Jan. 25. In the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, Receivables Management Association International (RMAI) is recommending that collectors suspend calls and other communications to those affected by the disaster until a later date. RMAI's State of Emergency and Hardship Policies apply in this case, to all of their certified companies, stating 'Refrain from initiating phone calls with consumers concerning the payment of a debt when the company knows there is an ongoing and active emergency related to a natural disaster that is impacting the community where the consumer resides'.
