🌟 Just returned from the ASHP Futures pharmacy conference in Portland, Oregon, and it was an incredibly insightful experience! 🌟 I had the opportunity to attend so many informative sessions that are shaping the future of pharmacy practice. I'd like to share a few of my favorites: 🔹 Joint Commission Sessions: We delved into the new standards and changes to the survey process for 2024. The session provided valuable insights into how Joint Commission accreditation surveyors will evaluate compliance with the updated compounding chapters. Essential information for staying ahead of regulatory changes! 🔹 AI and Digital Health in Pharmacy Education: This session explored the evolving landscape of AI, digital health, and technology in pharmacy education. We learned about introducing digital health technologies and utilizing cutting-edge AI platforms, including ChatGPT, as effective teaching and learning tools during clinical rotations. It was fascinating to learn how to embrace the future of pharmacy precepting by equipping ourselves with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the dynamic intersection of technology and pharmacy education. 🔹 Second Victim Training: We analyzed the intervention model of second victim support, crucial for helping affected staff regain confidence and competence. The session focused on assessing and applying appropriate support interventions based on the recovery stages of the second victim and identifying strategies for implementing a second victim program. An eye-opening discussion on providing essential support in challenging times.
